First Ball game of the season...

So the missus took a little pity on me last night and accompanied your truly to my first baseball game of 2013. We went to downtown Norfolk to catch game 1 of the double header between the hometown Tides and the Gwinnett Braves.

.
We had pretty decent seats for the evening courtesy of our local One-Hour Heating and Cooling company. They contacted my wife last week and offered us tickets so we took them up on it.

The Tides ended up winning both games. I made an early deal with my wife since she is NOT a baseball fan at all that we would stay through the 7th inning stretch of game 1, then make a decision to stay for the entire game or head home. I did not realize that game 1 was only going to be 7 innings! So we caught the whole game! Our Tides belted 2 homers, each with a man on 2nd, defeating the Braves 4-1.

I really like the hometown flare that the Tides show our local military, the camo jerseys are awesome. Last night had an extra twist as the USS Roosevelt had a large contingent in the crowd. Our boys in blue camo traded traditional Tides headgear for CV-71 Roosevelt hats!! Too cool!

The view from our seats was GReat! The weather at 1st pitch was a very nice semi-cool 78 degrees and falling and partly cloudy as you can see. A very pleasant night for a baseball game.

Thanks for reading,
Have a GReat day!
