Part 2...

So, on my way home Saturday afternoon from Nags Head, North Carolina, I had planned on at least 3 stops, including Southland at the state line. I knew they had some vending machines in the lobby that had little baseball hats in it.

I made sure to grab enough quarters before I left home to try my luck at snagging a Phillies cap. Figuring I'd try at least 4 times @ 75 cents wouldn't be the first time I'd blow $3.

Who'd I get?

What the ?? Yeah, I gave up after the third football team came out of the machine!!! Really pisses me off! The damned machine has baseball teams showing on the front, it's frickin labeled MLB hats, blah, blah, blah, and these things come dropping out!! WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!!!

Needless to say, if there are any Colts, Cards, or Bucs fans in the readership, these are available for trade!

Oh well, wasn't a total loss, the Phillies coaster that they are sitting on (it's almost 4" square) was on sale for $5, and it was a set of 4 to boot! 1 for my end table at home and 1 for my desk at work plus a couple to do something with later! (or keep as back-ups) and it was an absolute beautiful 180 mile round-trip ride on a gorgeous 65 degree sunny afternoon!

Caution, Rant ahead... part 1

So, I picked up another pack of TeenyMates this weekend. And I am expecting some of these to be duplicates now that I'm a good ways into a complete set as that is the nature of blind package buys.
The Twins and Nationals figures are the third set of them that I've received.

However, when you only get two puzzle pieces per package, and they are the same damned piece, that just blows!! big time!!
Needless to say, these figure are available if you are interested.

I did manage to get a few miles on the bike this weekend, which is always a good time!

When a duplicate is not.

Stopped by Target and picked up another packs of Teenymates. Got 2 new figures, but the puzzle pieces were duplicates of some help that I got from The Prowling Cat.

I got the Mariners and the Reds plus the Phillies and Brewers puzzle pieces.

Here kitty kitty...

Oh, come on! How else would you call a Prowling Cat?? As most of my readers know, I have been actively pursuing the new Teenymates MLB figures this year, and am (probably foolishly) attempting to complete at least the puzzle portion of this set.

I've also begged and pleaded with everyone for any unused/unwanted pieces of said puzzle. I received 1 response to my pleas, and 1 envelope in yesterday's mail from The Prowling Cat.

He and I have traded in the past and I really appreciate his assistance in my latest quest. He sent me 6 of the remaining 11 for my picture, leaving me just 5 left to complete!!

Thanks there Cat! He also included a few wayward Phils for my personal collections.

GReat morning!

So, I forgot the ointment that I use on my new tattoo and had to run across the street to Target this morning.
Stopped by the card aisle and bought a rack pack of Opening Day which I pulled several base cards I needed plus another mascot!!
and one pack of TeenyMates in which I got 1 duplicate, two puzzle pieces and:

Heck yeah!! A Limited Glow-In-The-Dark figure, of course, he's the most likely hit at 1:32 odds, but I'll take it!! He came with a Dodger which is available, along with 2 Rangers and 2 Indians, I believe.

So, out of my box of 2014 Topps Opening Day, I got 177 base cards out of 220, leaving me missing 43. 13 Blue Parallels including 1 Phillie, leaving me wanting 9 to complete a blue team set. 2014 Topps Opening Day Packs 19 and 20

Mr. Romo is celebrating the first half of the box being opened. The Kershaw has a rather nasty slice running through his left shoulder! Came out of the pack that way!!

Now for some statistics, we now have 122 base cards out of 220, with 17 duplicates, and no triplicates. I now have 6 blue parallels, and half of them are duplicated with a regular base card. I have 3 out of the 10 Between Innings set, 3 out of the 20 Breaking Out set (with 1 duplicate), 6 out of 30 Fired Up cards, 5 out of 25 Superstar Celebrations, 4 of the 25 Opening Day Stars, and only 3 out of the 25 Mascots, with no Autos, Relics, or Variants.

Not too bad for the base set, but it's not looking positive for my Mascots for this box as I don't think there will be a complete set of those in here!
